These contributions power the Nearby Deals feature, which shows shoppers what products cost at stores in their area. Unlike store-provided data that may be outdated or incomplete, community-contributed prices reflect what real shoppers actually see on the shelf today. Each shared price includes the date and store location, so you know exactly how fresh the data is. The more shoppers participate, the more accurate and useful the price data becomes for everyone.
How Nearby Deals Works
Nearby Deals uses community-contributed price data to help you find the cheapest store near you. When you open the feature, TallyCart shows prices for products at stores in your area, all sourced from anonymous scans by other shoppers. You can compare prices across multiple stores, see price history for individual products, and set alerts for price drops. The system gets smarter as more shoppers contribute data in your region.

Shared prices are the foundation of TallyCart's community features. Each shared price represents a real shelf tag scanned by a shopper at a specific store on a specific date. This data lets you compare prices across stores without visiting them yourself, discover which stores offer the best deals on the items you buy most, and make informed decisions about where to shop. Currently, shoppers in 49 active regions are contributing price data and helping each other save money on groceries.
How Grocery Lists Are Used
Grocery lists in TallyCart go beyond simple checkboxes. When you add items to a list, you can scan their shelf prices directly into the list, and the app calculates a running total that updates with every scan. Lists can be shared with family members for collaborative shopping. The app tracks your list history, so you can reuse past lists for recurring trips. With over 562 grocery lists created, TallyCart users are building smarter shopping habits one list at a time.
